Canadian ATM Cards Stopped Working

Scotiabank machine in Puerto Plata held my Scotiabank card for “Security Issues.” Bank Popular ATM would not process my Toronto Dominion card. Anyone else having problems with their Canadian cards? I saw there was a similar incident back in 2014 when service was temporarily suspended in the DR. First time this has happened to me and very annoying. What’s going on?

Call your banks.

Some banks require notification if you use the cards internationally. It is just too easy for criminals to clone them.

Please post back the explanation you get from your banks.

I used mine last night. Unfortunately the Scotia ATM was OUT OF MONEY AGAIN. 😡 Had to use another bank's ATM. But the card worked

Use Remitly and send yourself money,pick up at banks or Caribe Express easy peezy. I'll never use foreign ATM's again. And I think you can send 2000usd at a crack for like 4 bucks,exchange rate is decent too.
