And Paliza just showed up to receive it. He said as soon as it's ready, open it for traffic. Don't wait for the President. LOL

I hope Chico Bill can represent me at the inauguration.
Fun to watch..
One of them is saying that the only reason why it hasn't been opened yet is because they cannot put the asphalt because of the rain, which according to prognoses is going to continue for the rest of the week until middle of next. Soooo, we might have to wait a bit more for it to open, probably end of next week, unless they actually do asphalt it in the rain.
I LOVE the typical Dominican answer. Paliza asks at 3:35, so when is the bridge ready? The answer he gets is "Ahorita" :ROFLMAO:

Asphalt is happening today. With that, the bridge is finished with 2 days to spare. Great job.

Lots of rain this morning in Sosua. Lucky that there is time left. That was a nice video, I saw a expansion joint at 1min 15sec-18sec. We don't worry about frost heave, but heat expansion is common here.

The Cangrejo Bridge is open for pedestrians as of today, just watched a video on FB.
Both sides handrails and sidewalks 90% complete.

That "Dip" is going to drive me nuts every time I see it.

Paving won't fix the dip in the guard rail. lol
Actually I was surprised at the height of the guardrail. It appears to be a lot lower than the ones on North American bridges. In the video it appears to be much lower than the waistline of the workers on the bridge.

I think the camber in the beams is what makes it look like a dip.
All I care that it opens and the water doesn't pond on top and we can go to Puerto Plata without winding through Montellano another year

Ditto. My boys now have a Christmas break from school, so I don't have to go through to the "other side" until after the holidays. Soooo, it can open anytime before Jan 8th and I'm happy.
