There was a water pipe planned to be mounted on the north side of the bridge. Has that been installed?View attachment 8584
Circiled in this foto you can see this small protruding concrete section. There is another one at the other end and Im sure two more one the opposite side. I think these are to attach the lighting pole. Or maybe not
In one of the videos I saw the pipes all played out on the bridge after the concrete was poured so I think yes the pipe is in.There was a water pipe planned to be mounted on the north side of the bridge. Has that been installed?
These are the reinforced concrete sections that carry all the weight of the iron midsection but yes they could poles on top of them.View attachment 8584

Yes it was opened before I went down for my dirt napWell, it is finally open and I don't have to take the detour.
But, then those Dominicans that are in a hurry won't be able to use those lanes as passing lanes.A centre divider to keep drunks and idiots on one side would be a good idea to avoid head on collisions.
No its dr1 whining fest..seems bunch of people have island fever..Doesn't anyone have anything positive to say ?
It took a while for the Santiago Beltway to have its most important stretch finished. Look at it now.I am not holding my breath for the road from Puerto Plata to Cabarete to be 4 lanes as was discussed years ago.
Boy will that cause some issues with power, water, homes and businesses built right on the current highway, etc...
It's all about money. Work picked up pace once money was flowing again. Now the bridge is finished before the end of 2023.Why is it a good thing that it took so long to replace this bridge?
I understand the concept of time here is fluid compared to other countries, but it took a ridiculous length of time in this case to replace the bridge.
Cuatro años más y después hablamos!A lot of people pushing up to the microphone to take credit
Yes that's exactly what El Ministro Paliza said.He couldn't make it. I'm guessing he's worried about the weather
Are you not going to the official ribbon cutting opening. I hear they are serving chicken cordon Bleu to the first 100 motorists.Good luck to all using the bridge and Merry Christmas!
Big, it's called "Gordinblu"!Are you not going to the official ribbon cutting opening. I hear they are serving chicken cordon Bleu to the first 100 motorists.
I see it as a matter of priority. The north coast is very low priority compared to Punta Cana, Pedernales, Santiago, Santo Domingo, and new Cruise ports. It's all about money. Work picked up pace once money was flowing again. Now the bridge is finished before the end of 2023.
It did take too long for sure. And that bi-pass is beginning to tear up cars with the road cratering. So all that being said I will drive over it todayI see it as a matter of priority. The north coast is very low priority compared to Punta Cana, Pedernales, Santiago, Santo Domingo, and new Cruise ports.
Almost two years to complete a simple bridge on the main highway of the north coast is proof how low a priority the north coast is.
The statement on TV that there would be a Cabarete Bypass only to have it disappear without further word is proof of the low priority.
Talks of a new fast highway from Santiago to La Grand Parada? We will see if there is any priority at all with that as well.
Could be but I am wondering if they have future plans for installing light post. There was a water pipe planned to be mounted on the north side of the bridge. Has that been installed?
