Cardinal Nicolás López Rodríguez is recovering successfully from hip surgery at Cedimat in Santo Domingo. A former archbishop of Santo Domingo, he is retired. He suffered a fall in his residence. He is expected to be released to undergo rehabilitation therapy at his residence.
Earlier, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Santo Domingo, Francisco Ozoria, had asked the priests of the Catholic Church and all Dominicans to pray for the health of Cardinal López Rodríguez.
Cardinal López Rodríguez was admitted to Cedimat on 27 November.
