I graduated from CMS in 1972. As I recall, the school was the only choice available in-country with Southern States accreditation, and all U.S. Embassy kids attended. The quality of the education was at least on par with schools in the U.S., and most teachers were very good (I recall one notable exception). Looking at the CMS website, it appears that a fair amount of money has been spent on facilities and equipment. The quality of the student body was above average compared to most schools in typical U.S. urban areas.

If I were living in Santo Domingo, I would not hesitate to send my kids to CMS.

Carol Morgan is a good school but very very expensive. There are many good schools in the Dominican Republic that have a resonable price. I've heard many many good things about the American School of Santo Domingo. They also have an American Curriculum and have amazing teachers. If your kids go there they will have the proper education to proceed with a college/university degree in the U.S.A. Actually, most of their students usually go to Canada, Miami and New York for their education.
Check it out, the administration there is very nice and polite.

If a school is the most expensive one doesnt mean is the best one.

The salary package is brilliant. The director get $50,000 us + living allowance, car and other stuff.
Average teacher makes $20-25,000 us + living allowance, car rental help etc. Very good for the Dominican.
Most other top out at around $13-15,000us.

Very americanised in every way, not sure if thats a good thing or not but seems to be impressive.
