Good call, whirleybird, I really have to bite my tongue on this one. My trip report is in the forum.

Yawn

Yes, after all the sosua working girls need to eat too and make an honest living!

Was this comment necessary?

If you don't like Sosua, then go elsewhere, it is a big island. I do not live there, but I am sick of reading this mierda, it just gets old after a while.

OMG! Did I hit the drum the wrong way? Better to have a controled envirorment, then to have them loos on the run.

I don't need to bash Sosua around, they do that on their own.

Thank you.

Haha, shall we try 'controlled' and 'environment' and obviously 'loos' are something very different in your home country to what they are in mine..... "loos on the run" - priceless comment!!!!!

Lastly, who are 'they'????? :p:bunny::bunny::bunny:

No, Sosua isn't perfect, but I have yet to find a place that is. And when I move on I leave without feeling the need to bash, bash, bash the place I decided is not for me.

Sosua, the North Coast, are not for everyone. If they are not for you, please do your talking with your feet.

Have been to Sosua many many times and I have never been bothered or approached by a working girl. If you don't show an interest and make obvious eye contact the ladies will leave you alone. I've enjoyed the restaurants,(especially Rocky's), the ambiance, the ocean and the many positive things it has to offer. Nobody is ever going to change the worlds oldest profession, so either enjoy it for it's many other amenities or just don't go.

They have had a seperate section that allows "Guests" for over a year now.
Paying customers are better than empty rooms.

Sosua Bay Beach Club | About

I am a little off topic here but does anyone know if you can purchase the AI at this resort for a day without staying there?
I could not find any information on their site in regards to this.
I might take a vacation from my vacation and chill there for a day if this option is available.
We have stayed there in the past and really liked it.

Most AI resorts offer a day or evening pass, that includes one meal and all the watered down beer you can drink!

I am coming to Sosua for a few years now(2or 3months at a time) but this is my last trip. Lots of streets have been paved this year,--lovely, a new racetrack for the expert motorcycelist,-but there is always the beach when you loose a Leg to get some pesos.--don,t go on Sundays, its rough to walk trough the garbage after lunch. And then the lovely Dogs, seems like more every year, barking there A....s.off all night. I think also that this is a beautiful Island and Ocean --too bad about the People.

Seems that your total of 4 posts on these Forums in just over a year haven't exactly contributed a lot to this Board so, perhaps your choice to go elsewhere in the future, won't actually be missed much either!!

I started this thread to inform mainly tourists already booked into this hotel, that they need to discuss with their travel agent/tour operator what alternative arrangements have been made for them so that they can have their controlled panic attacks :cheeky: well in advance of arriving here.

Might I suggest that those who want to have uncontrolled Sosua attacks do it somewhere else? Unless of course you're a literary wit. Of which there seems quite a dearth.

I think the sister hotel on the same property, Casa Marina Reef, will continue to stay open. The two hotels operate as one, and I suspect the company just wants to reduce its inventory down to 350 rooms from 700, as the summer/fall is expected to be very slow.
Hopefully it will be business as usual.

Fun Royale has been so dead that they don't even open the pool bar. :ermm:

Sunwing, Signature, and Nolitours are still listing packages to Casa Marina. :classic:

Sunwing is having a fuel tax sale and the total taxes now are $220, not including the tourist card and departure tax.
Signature is $321 and Nolitours is $329 including the tourist card and departure tax.

There are those who appear to seek out a negative spin no matter where they are. They simply seem to have that knack and apparently thrive on it.
