What the rates was informed to me so I want to share with the world that these 2 companies don't come cheap so be prepared.

CENETUR (Power Service for Cap Cana):

To start service, you will need following:
-Application contract filled out
-Provide copy property title (sale contract)
-If commercial, provide the commercial title

Deposit to start service: $1,000 USD NON-REFUNDABLE and is required for installation/interconnection work. 2 Months deposit may be required.

They charge $19.98RD per kWh a hour. Very expensive. The contract states it's for the 600kWh service level.

They said if you have solar panels, it needs to be approved by them before you can be able to use their electric service to ensure lower your electric rates.

As said, they claimed that CEPM charge $19.90RD per kWh so we are 8 cents more than them but I am not sure why. But, overall it's still expensive.

Anybody that lives or planning to live in Cap Cana knows that the electric is expensive, zero surprise. Punta Cana in general is expensive. Didn't you say you already had solar at your place in Cap Cana?

Clearly when you "moved" to Cap Cana you knew that the electric was going to be expensive. This should not surprise you.

Fleeced.
No way would I consider paying anything close to this amount for such basic services in a developing country.

It is expensive. It is one of the reasons the "rentals" in Cap Cana for example charge separately for electricity.

My attorney said Cap Cana is the one of the most expensive cost of living anywhere on Dominican Soil besides Casa De Campo come in second.

For that reason, I have seen many houses/villas around have solar panels to lower their energy bill. Like myself, I have Starlink and only paying $59USD for 300-320mpbs internet. Who the hell wants to pay $254 for 300mpbs same as what I have??? Really silly.

Same here. I'm not even commenting on electricity but those prices for internet service do not make any sense. If Starlink is available in the DR, why would anyone pay those prices?

EDIT, did not see the last comment from the OP; so apparently they have Starlink.

That because they rent fiber optica from Claro from the data center up further north in Punta Cana, it's few blocks from CPEM facility.

I am going to check with what my brother is paying, but it seems to me for internet/cable (basic) it was around $100 (more or less when you break it down) per month. What the OP posted I am assuming is from the companies' websites. I should add there is a monthly residence fee for Cap Cana and that includes insurance and utilities. I do not know the exact amount, but it was rather high.
