The Central Bank of the Dominican Republic has issued warnings to the public about videos that are appearing on internet platforms that use Artificial Intelligence to reproduce the voice of Central Bank governor, Hector Valdez Albizu, announcing a new Central Bank investment platform.

These videos are fake and do not have any relation to decisions made by the Monetary Board or the Central Bank. They can also produce uncertainty regarding banking institutions, and as a result, any messages received purporting to provide financial services that might be dubious, should be reported to the authorities.

Finally, the Central Bank notes that all of its decisions and policies are available on their website www.bancentral.gob.do, and their accounts on the major social platforms as well as in the local press.

Simply contact the Central Bank regarding anything you see about it to confirm it’s legitimate prior to making a decision.

"Might be dubious...".) Interesting. How many members here have ever contacted the Central Bank, about anything?
Secondly, to those that pay attention and are wary of anything in the DR ,"might be dubious", might need to call the bank on a daily level. Finally, to those not familiar with anything beyond the debit CC they just received (that being a big day in the life of the citizens) how would they know what is "dubious"?
We are all pretty much astute on banking matters, but if one should see a dubious matter would you call the central bank?
