The Chamber of Deputies passed the RD$150.9 billion supplementary budget. The bill now passes to the Executive Branch for signing and enactment.

The initiative contemplates RD$1.5 billion to complete the budget of the Central Electoral Board (JCE), compensating for the e-voting glitch that required rescheduling of the municipal election. It also includes one billion to finance the political parties and pay for the extraordinary expenses they have incurred with the suspension of the 16 February municipal election.

The Chamber of Deputies also passed a bill that authorizes those with pension plans to retrieve 30% of their savings. This bill has yet to be heard in the Senate.
