Charges submitted for sexual abuse against Tampa Rays’ Wander Franco

The Attorney General Office has submitted formal charges for sexual abuse and sexual exploitation of a minor on Tampa Rays shortstop Wander Franco. He has been on administrative leave from the team since 28 March 2024 as the criminal investigation advances in the Dominican judiciary. The accusations came at a time when Franco was at a high, making the American League All-Star team.

The Attorney General Office charges pave the way for a trial in the judiciary.
