My USA bank says I have a $500 USD daily max ATM withdrawal limit here in DR. But every ATM I use here only allows 12,000 DOP max withdrawal. I asked a Banreservas banker why, she said Dominican ATM’s will ONLY give 12,000 max per withdrawal because of regulations on foreign bank cards. Has anyone been able to withdraw more than 12,000 pesos at an ATM here?
Nacional bank in Puerto Plata at La Sirena and their main branch just 5 minutes from La Sirena on calle Beller both have 30 thousand peso limit for just 150 peso ATM fee but be careful withdrawing that much twice I attempted to withdraw 25 thousand pesos but because there were so many bills they actually got stuck in the machine and the door where the money comes out only partially opened then closed completely but my US bank account was charged I had to wait about 7 days before my bank reimbursed my money it's best not to take more than 20 thousand pesos out at a time less chance of money getting stuck

I was going to say this same exact thing. Been there, done that.

Yes happened to me as well, and I had to wait 30 days before I was reimbursed. So I never take out more than 10k just to avoid any problems as sometimes the ATMs even only have $RD 200 bills (although it was a LONG time ago that happened).
Hi which banks offer little or no fees for ATM withdrawals for those with revolut or wise / transferwise cards?
I use BHD ATMs and I'm not charged using my Wise card, although it says on the screen that they will take out a fee, but for the past 2 years I've been using it, never been charged. And I really like their new machines that doesn't require you to input your card into the machine.. But with my Wise card there's a 10k limit for each transaction.
