CHECK WITH YOUR LAWYER THAT THEY ARE PAYING YOUR PROPERTY TAXES

I just learnt about a property owner who has been paying his lawyer to submit his annual property tax. Only to find that they have not been paying it for 3 or 4 years but still charging him. He has now received a horrific bill from the tax office. I was in real estate for 7 years and warned clients of expensive properties to make sure they paid their annual tax as they could receive a massive bill when they sold it. Sadly, I never told them to make sure their lawyer paid it.

Thankfully, I use Titus Krause of Krause & Asociados (www.drlegalcounsel.com) who has an accountant working with him who used to work in the tax office, which is very useful. He always supplies evidence that the tax has been paid. I strongly suggest you get receipts from your lawyer, and make sure they have changed and registered the title in your name.
