Chilly weather from the North moving South to the DR

Cool breezes are expected on Thursday, 5 December 2024 as a cold front in the north interacts with weather in the DR.

The National Meteorological Office (Indomet) is forecasting a noticeable drop in temperature and increased humidity starting on the morning of Wednesday, 4 December 2024 due to the indirect interaction of a cold front.

This meteorological phenomenon will bring cloudy skies, light to moderate rainfall, occasional heavy downpours, thunderstorms, and gusty winds to the provinces of María Trinidad Sánchez, Espaillat, Hermanas Mirabal, Puerto Plata, Montecristi, and Samana. These conditions are expected to spread to Duarte, La Vega, Santiago, Valverde, and neighboring areas, persisting into the afternoon and evening.

68 degrees last night. Almost froze my butt off.
Near sea level... In Jarabacoa and Constanza things could be different. I have never seen so many homes with chimneys in the DR as I did up there.

It hasn't been chilly at all so far on the north coast. I haven't seen below 24 celcius at 5am yet. I usually have my hot tub running by now but not this year. It's 24.5 celcius at 5:23am at the moment.

It has been 18 or 19 in the morning here in Jarabacoa which is normal for this time of the year. It is currently 30.
