And that is exactly why so many people have so far declined the vaccine.....they were rushed into emergency use without being thoroughly vetted.

Of course, then the “you won’t be able to fly without a vaccine passport” crowd further added more disinformation to an already panic stricken population.....and so you have people who lined up to take whatever vaccine they could get.....totally convinced “the best vaccine you can get.....is the one you can get.”

As to the Chinese vaccines themselves, only fools and or people who are in panic and therefore easily convinced, would even consider/trust any of the Chinese vaccines and their claims without proper vetting.

And it seems we have a lot of panicked people.....and perhaps a few who are just plain foolish.

Seems your country is losing to China in the death count, who are the fools?

Expand your world views, and Chinas covid response.

Examining leadership at the personal, national, and international levels, Yan shows how rising states like China transform the international order by reshaping power distribution and norms. Yan also considers the reasons for America’s diminishing international stature even as its economy, education system, military, political institutions, and technology hold steady. The polarization of China and the United States will not result in another Cold War scenario, but their mutual distrust will ultimately drive the world center from Europe to East Asia.

Largely due to progressives being in charge of the school system and media. Now that there is a progressive government in power it will only get worse.

So be it. I want nothing to do with China in my lifetime. Their government reeks. While they may covet world domination, they won't get it.

I love the Chinese.
Hate the CCP and those hypocrites who seek to use fear to control other people's lives.

True, but it's a matter of degree. Obviously as an American I'm biased towards my own.
Understandable.

Conquest by military and economic force has been the human condition since our brief existence on this planet.
It is how our brains work, control and fear.
In theory there could be evolution to a next level of human cooperation.
Religions, governments, borders, the human brain and fear make peaceful evolution a Utopia.

The average citizens of any country have very little control, grains of dust moving driven by the wind.

Power struggles and changes of power centres will continue, as they always have.
Yet we increasingly live in a global world of cooperations and manufacturing.
Every country is in competition.
Medical research, vaccine production and all production will increasingly be global.
Countries which have negated national production and facilities because of costs, need to re-gain this capability.
Intellectual property, research and development alone, is not enough.
The US used to be a manufacturing giant and still is on the forefront of innovation.

Cutting edge technology and manufacturing has to return to National levels.
This will enable competitive and cost effective production.
Vaccine production, bio-medical research, electronic components for defence and IT are important for National survival.
Of course ideally there should be international cooperation in research, to benefit all humanity and cut costs.

We all hope for health and peace in our brief stay here.

Maybe because the evidence shows it is ninety five percent effective ?
The 95% effective rate does not apply to all vaccines. Look at Chile. They have had a very strict lockdown, vaccinated nearly one third of the population, yet there are having a very strong resurgence of the virus. 93% of the vaccines rolled out in Chile was initially thought to have an efficacy rate of only 50%. Further studies show that the efficacy rate between the first and second shot was only 3%!!!! Guess where that 93% of the vaccine came from? CoronaVac, produced by the Beijing-based biopharmaceutical company Sinovac. China. I hope the world center does not shift to Asia too quickly as one poster suggested. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-56731801

It is not a "fact" and is in fact not true.
The vaccines were vetted and not rushed into emergency use.
Speed was the result of new MRNA vaccine technology.
Ken is correct.

An EUA (Emergency Use Authorization) means that they were not thoroughly vetted and were rushed into emergency use...................that is why they carry the designation of an Emergency Use Authorization................and not an approval.........which is a much higher standard.

"In an emergency, like a pandemic, it may not be possible to have all the evidence that the FDA would usually have before approving a drug, device, or a test."

And of course it raises the question of why the Chinese want to improve its vaccine before giving it to the Chinese............if in fact it has been thoroughly vetted.......which of course means vetted by agencies that have silenced whistle blowers for not saying the "right" things.

Efficacy is a poor way to compare the vaccines. It does make for a great marketing tool though. Right from the link you posted:

"But Prof Bueno, who analyses scientific data from trials with the CoronaVac, is adamant that the data shows that it works.
She says in the trial that showed an efficacy rate of around 50% many of those who got infected only had very mild symptoms or were asymptomatic. She stresses that the important thing is that no-one in the trial needed to go into intensive care.
She insists CoronaVac prevents deaths and severe illness and is also proving effective against the Brazilian variant."

The Chinese are already giving it to their people - 167 million so far according to this source:

On Thursday morning, the CDC said it had reports of approximately 5,800 so-called breakthrough infections, out of the nearly 77 million individuals in the United States who have been fully vaccinated.

Full coverage of the coronavirus outbreak

Such cases are not unexpected; no vaccine is 100 percent effective against infection with the coronavirus. Even so, they are rare, and experts tell NBC News the data are largely reassuring.

"This is a really good scenario, even with almost 6,000 breakthrough infections," said Tara Smith, a professor of epidemiology at the Kent State University College of Public Health in Ohio. "Most of those have been mildly symptomatic or asymptomatic. That's exactly what we were hoping for.
