The jury chose the top three and the center has organized guided tours to these so people can celebrate the local Christmas traditions. Over 700 people will tour the areas on 17 and 18 December to explore the stunningly decorated streets of these neighborhoods, now transformed into tourist attractions.

Christmas is my thing and I love decorating my house inside and outside and I wish more people would do it here. I understand it is not for everyone but there are so many families living here and I bet their kids would love to have lots of lights on their houses. My gardener told me that many people have stopped and taken photos of my house with the Christmas lights and one person even uploaded a video to her Facebook saying that is how people should decorate at Christmas! I don't go overboard like Clark Griswold in National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, but I do like to have lots of lights outside. Some people grumble because of the cost of electricity, but these are LED's and so don't use too much power and I only have them on for 6 hours a night on a timer. I really wish more people would decorate!

As a long-time resident of the city of Santiago...
It would be nice if these Muppets would share with us which three neighborhoods made the final selection?

For those of you who enjoy Christmas lights I recommend you check out the display at the Ayuntamiento Municipal.
It's located one block from Metro Tours bus station. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.
