Thanks to all for the advice here. I went to the cockfights last night in La Ceiba Del Salado. It was a great experience with all the drinking and the yelling and the gambling. I had a front-row seat. I also got there early and they let me see the roosters in the back and hold one.

Not surprised you had a good time. If you were in the first row, you must have gone home with blood on your shirt. At least here the bird has a chance, at the chicken farm all the birds lose.
