Have been experiencing slow Codetel Flash DSL service (I have 768 kbps) since this morning about 11.30 am.
I am getting about 100 kbps.

After 30 minuts of chat with a rep and various "tests" ... was told it's a problem affecting various areas.

So, anybody else with this problem?

Yes, me and robert have the same problem. I am using a US proxy which makes it better - suggesting the issue is related to one of codetel's international routes out of the country.

This morning my internet connection conked out for no reason whatsoever and wouldn't come back for around 15 minutes. Didn't notice any speed issues before it went down or after it went back up though.

I had some problems with the DSL, getting disconnected at 4:00 AM but not anymore.

Adrian, how do you connect via a US proxy and have better results?

It's my understanding that to reach an outside proxy, you have to use the outbound bandwidth, so if there is a problem with direct traffic on and outbound Codetel line, it would have the same effect on the traffic-going-to-proxy, because it has to use the same outbound line from Codetel, before it reaches the proxy in the USA. Or am I getting something wrong?

assume codetel has 3 major routes internationally and one critical one is bad (eg the other day, where possibly 2 were bad). thats 30% of our bandwidth that is really badly rerouted.

i connect to one of the remaining 2 with codetel, and use my US proxy server. i get a direct connect to my proxy server via one of the remaining good routes, and my proxy server routes me directly to the server i couldn't reach before, eg google.com or facebook.com

its slower and has problems but it works
