Hola,

My wife and I will be arriving to LT late Friday evening (hopefully). Could someone that lives or winters in LT tell me when Super Pola closes on a Friday ? We would like to be able to grab some supplies before heading to our destination.

Thanks

Despite it says Samaná when it should say Las Terrenas, anyone in the area shown can order from Sirena.go and get their products delivered home (from Super Pola).

This info from Nals about Pola delivery will be handy for Las Terrenas now the new vaccination card requirement.

Technically, San Francisco de Macorís isn't on the northeast coast, but a McDonald's is currently being built there. That will be the closest to expat hotspots like Las Terrenas.

Oh! For a second I thought the French might in LT might stage a rebellion. Hay San Pedro!

Yeah, I never knew the French were the only expat in Las Terrenas. They must be coming to DR1 in large numbers too. Afterall, this forum is in their language. Very convenient.

Oh, will you look at that. An American living in Las Terrenas and with an American kid too. Can anyone say sometimes miss a happy meal? There is a Sirena in SFM too. Make the trip and kill two birds with one stone, both return happy to Las Terrenas.

The McDonald's is open for anyone in Las Terrenas/Samaná wanting a taste of the USA "close by."

Also, KFC open today exactly next to the McDonald's.

And Bravo Supermarket is currently building a store on the same avenue. This might be the best thing since Bravo offers good deals. This would be the closest store of this national supermarket chain to the Samaná area.

The Bravo is currently being built in this green area next to the entrance to this gated community.

This is also the avenue with the McDonald's and KFC. The video is from 2020, way before this thread was created.

Rather than create a new thread for this, I changed the title of this thread so all things commercial development in the northeast can be grouped in one place. This is probably the most useful for expats in Las Terrenas and Cabrera.

---------

Apparently, Sirena started the process to acquire land and build a store in Nagua. If this is the case, this will be the closest Sirena to Las Terrenas. As of right now the closest is in San Francisco de Macorís.

Something that many of you may find of interest:

I rotate most of my visits between Bravo and Sirena here in San Cristobal. Both have ample parking lots.

I have yet to see more than 10 cars or so at any given time at Bravo, while the parking lot at Sirena is always close to full.

Sirena has quite a few banks and service shops under their roof, while Bravo only has a few.

One thing I really like about La Sirena(at least the one in Pto. Plata), is the cafeteria style restaurant they have. Fantastic selection and variety, good quality, and reasonable prices that are based on how much of any item you buy. Overall, the food is better than you get in most mid-priced restaurants. And fast! Beats the typical poor/slow service common in most restaurants here.

Agreed. We usually have a bite to eat, or a quick majarete at the Sirena in San Cristobal. Always good.
