Married.........Mar 2010

Mississauga...May 4 2010

Approved......June 8th 2010

App in SD......June 14 2010

In proccess...June 21 2010

Interview confirmed for April 26th @10:30 am

Well interview was GREAT!!!! He was told he is approved!!!!...He does have to get his medicals and police check done agian though they expired and as soon as they get the results he should be on his way home so 2-6 weeks( fingers crossed)

We got our call to bring passport on Tuesday May 24th

My husband lands in Canada on Thursday May 26th

Mississauga received package: August 25, 2010

Approved to sponsor- Sept 24, 2010

Received letter from Santo Domingo that they received application Sept 30, 2010 with bfile # included.

Husband picked up visa May 17 and will arrive in Canada May 21st! 7.5 months in process

Mar 21 - Got the phone call this morning (March 21, 2011). We missed it but my wife managed to get a hold of someone at the Embassy. They want her to redo her medicals.

Hey, it's been a while since I've been on DR1... but my wife ended up redoing her medicals, then about a month later she hadn't received word yet so I e-mailed the Embassy and they told me to tell her to go drop off her passport to get her visa! She landed in Canada May 14th and we're together now. :) Thank you to everyone for your support.

I recently sent my PR application for my husband who is Dominican. I have noticed there haven't been any recent timelines posted. I am really curious to know how long the process is taking these days. I know it says 14 months on the CIC website but I want to know if it will really be that long. Thanks!

With the new conditional visa law the approval has been anywhere from 4 - 8 months from the time it reaches SD. Unfortunately there is talk of strikes by the diplomats so it's unclear. Good luck

Thank you but could you give me a bit more information about this possible strike. Perhaps where I can read more about this? That would be terrible!
