The National Council for the Aging (Conape) has taken charge of the care for Jose Cesteros after a video went viral showing the master painter wandering the streets of the Colonial City in a state of abandonment.
The man who produced the video on the 88-year old legendary painter complained that several promoters of Cesteros’ works are not financially assisting him and seem to be awaiting for his death to reap higher profits, while the maestro looks abandoned and destitute.
The works of the master painter are highly valued and sell for thousands.
