Quality of life starts with the basics like clean piped water, electricity 24 hrs a day/ 7 days a week along with 3 square meals a day for the entire population.. These simple goals ARE NOT achievable in this country nor will they ever be achieved during our lifetime.

For years the Central Bank adjusted the various minimum wages simply by taking the effect of inflation when the correct way is inflation + productivity increases. Most productivity gains that belong to Dominican workers went to the rich. That's a good reason why wage levels in the DR never increased st par with increases of productivity of Dominican workers. I don't remember reading about the CONEP ever complaining of how the minimum wages was set. That's an error that has been kept hush hush in the Central Bank.

The CONEP is one of the largest associations of top level Dominican businessmen (ie. the oligarchy.)
