The Chamber of Deputies passed two loans from the InterAmerican Development Bank (IDB). The Ministry of Hacienda and the multilateral bank signed the loan agreements on 20 August, in the first week of the Abinader administration. The funds will strengthen public policy and fiscal management to address the health and economic crisis caused by Covid-19 in the Dominican Republic and for the emergency program for macroeconomic and fiscal sustainability.
The two loans, each in the amount of US$250 million, passed in the Senate of the Republic on 30 September of this year.
