Fox Sports carries a lot of these games and they are on almost all of the cable companies lists...also ESPN Deportes carries games...
There is a TeleSur channel but I have yet to see any sports on it...

hey guys, thanks for your help. I have tried looking into these schedules for the cable companies but havent been able to see that far out into September yet...my guess is that Gol TV will carry at least one of these games. I went as far as emailing them to see if they will carry it. I do believe that Gol TV is a channel on Telecable.
Now I have to find someone and or somewhere in la capital that has it available to sit down and enjoy the games! I will keep looking and keep my fingers crossed.

a contact of mine in the Renaissance Jaragua has confirmed to me they carry several sports stations [including Gol TV] however they do not know the schedules for the month of September nor do they know who will be televising the games I want to watch. My fingers are crossed that they will have the games. I love the sports bar in the Renaissance, especially the BIG SCREEN TV, and right on the Malecon. I will keep digging around just in case but this information really made my day! :)

Alright,

Beeing the soccer fan that I am, I understand your frustrations. I have on numerous occasions tried to catch a Uruguay qualifyer in other places, but most bars won't show them - if its on a channel that they have they might be nice enough to put it, but if a more popular game is on, they probably won't (I'm thinking baseball is still on in Sept.).

Heres what you do, closer to the date check Gol TV and Fox sports listings, they are available on Telecable. They show some games but not all. If it is not being shown, it will be difficult to get a satelite link to watch the game - unless you crash the embassy. So in this case, you search for streaming video online, and if you're willing to fork up a few dollars, you can get a high quality stream at Jumptv.com They air almost all south american qualifyers, and you get access for 30 days for $10, so you should be able to see the Oct qualifyers too. Hope this helps

With Jumptv the quality is good enough that you can plug your laptop into a tv via s-video or HDMI cable and enjoy the game on a bigger screen.

thanks for the suggestions Uruguayo, I hope GolTv and Fox Soccer will televise these games and hope that the Renaissance Jaragua will have the games on their TVs come game time. It is frustrating but what can I do? Fortunately I have a SLINGBOX at home and will have my laptop with me. I've been able to watch TV from my own cable box live and direct to DR while at a hotel...so if the games happen to be on my cable companie's networks then I might just sling it....sigh, I just hope I can watch it on a bigger screen and or in company of a few good friends and enjoy the games.
