I just paid US$585.40 round trip on JetBlue, JFK to STI Jun 28 to Jul 6. I think is not that expensive if you look at the price of oil. See you in two weeks Monumento....

You can still see the prices of oils but its has to do with the summer season...hopefully by one year from this date it will be ok

This probably dosen't help the STI crowd much but I just noticed that Continental is now running two flights a day to SDQ out of EWR. The morning one leaves even earlier and the other is at noon.

Search Jetblue.com

Remember, after september AA has only one JFK-STI flight. Jetblue will have around 2 or 3 frequencies daily so you should get a cheaper flight....

remember guys, Jetblue is now your choice to STI from JFK......

We need another airline to compete with B6 to keep the fares low.....

Tigre searched Jetblue JFK-STI-JFK Sept 17 to 24 round trip in the morning (9am) flight for 405......

regards

STIOP

Thanks my friend. I've never flown JB to the DR. I'm going to have to give them a try.

It's a shame that CO is leaving STI...their service onboard, unlike Jetblue's was complete...I flew Jetblue last week and had to pay for headphones, as well as for my first bag and on board meal...plus even though the seats are leather...the plane is too narrow and for some reason my ears were killing me!! I rather fly CO, where at least I dont have to pay for my meal, have free headphones and I only get charged for the 2nd checked bag...too bad they were full and are leaving STI!!! :(

First, American charges you more for their headphones and their IFE is not even an IFE compared to JetBlue's DirecTV, XM radio and movie options.
Second, JetBlue DOES NOT charge for the first bag, so I don't know where you got that from, only second bag charge if you booked on or after May 1, 2008.
Third, JetBlue DOES NOT serve meals, neither do they sell meals onboard. They have unlimited variety of snacks that you can eat, and when you buy your ticket it tells you that they don't serve meals, and that you can feel free to bring your own meals, etc., so you stating that you paid for a meal makes me wonder if what you are saying is not true at all.
Fourth, CO is a legacy carrier that have been flying for years. JetBlue only has 8 years of operation, but don't be surprised if they finally choose to do some "Premium Class" onboard that started with their Even More Legroom product which has been a hot selling product.

As we all know it is your option to fly certain carrier in a market that has been dominated for years by AA, which thanks God that's going to finally end, I'd rather have JetBlue (New York's hometown airline) to be in that market and overcome all the legacy carriers, especially AA that has treated us the Dominicans like animals, now more with those 8 plus hours, and even next day delays, if you doubt me as STIOP if I'm lying about the MAJOR delays of AA in STI. (AA has also been having MAJOR delays in the MIA-SDQ, and JFK-SDQ routes).

$2 Million per month!

I recently found out that CO spends about two million dollars per month on baggage handling to STI. That, combined with about 0% business traffic = a money loser. People should have taken the hint when they had to wait over a week for their luggage and brought less bags. Learn to flush the toilet, too! I would be more understanding if most people were from the campo, but everyone has a green card, lives in the US and I'm sure has toilets at home that flush!

JetBlue is taking over!

Taking over or TOOK OVER???

Happy to report that I flew them the last time I went to Santiago. I liked them. However, that 50lbs per bag kills me. I lug around a lot of stuff. I had to limit what I brought with me. OH well...can't have your cake and eat it too.

I don't know if it makes a difference (the experts can log in here!) but I just did EWR - POP Oct 21 to Nov 20 for $783.60 for 2 tickets.

Posted price was $258 each..... then the TAXES $392 each

IF you have a Continental branded card you can get business class -- buy 1 get 1 free. That adds up to about $150 extra EACH.

So, for $150 extra each you get business class tix .... maybe not bad, depending on your circumstances.

Fly High !!!!
