I take Copa PUJ to Vegas one stop in Panama. Works well. And they have Business..........
There is a 1:50 am flight out of Vegas to the DR through Panama. We could fly out of LAS if it was the right situation.

Copa at Panama airport has a new wing. And the best thing for me anyway is the Krispy Crème Donut stand there. Also if you have never been there the airport has tons of Duty Free stores selling everything………

What makes this good news is that Panama City is the hub of Copa Airlines. From there, you can get lots of direct flights to North and South America.
and the one difference not mentioned is Copa has transit unlike a USA connection, where you need to claim your baggage and re-check in and security again. Going to west coast from pop makes it a real airport, jijiji

I have checked flights from our home in the western USA on COPA. For us it would involve 2 stopovers, either Denver/LAX, then Panama to SDQ. While using AA, Delta or Jet Blue it is just 1 stopover. There used to be a COPA non-stop flight from our home airport to Panama, then we could get the connecting flight to SDQ. We did this once. Now with the 2 stopovers, for us it doesn't make sense.
This is the problem for me for anything besides MIA or JFK with POP as home airport. Either long layovers to connect adding a day on each end of a trip or mulitple connections.. Not enticing at all to travel to where I would like to go in the USA.

For locations in South America, flying out of Santo Domingo also adds those additional two days. And so it goes. That said, Panama adds some options if you don't mind the connections or costs.

Do they have good deals in the duty free there ? Because it is one thing to have a lot of shops but another thing to get actual duty-free prices. I looked in the VS store in JFK Terminal 4 for an item on offer and the price was higher than on Amazon

Just got Copa's email about Santiago. It's accompanied by a beach scene. Should we tell them?

Also, I have to mention that the entire week I was in PC, I never heard a generator running. At least someone can figure it out.
One last thing I forgot to mention. I had booked a round trip flight from SDQ - PTY - SDQ. I did purchase a ticket out of SDQ nor was I asked for one.

Just got back from Panama City. No problems with this airline and this was my first time. Also no lines. Loved that part of it.
hahahah, well its a shame you didnt fly with Copa before because they are not as good as they used to be before. Wish they add at least one more flght to SDQ to have more optiones for departuring times. Better flight with Copa than going to Punta Cana unless the flight from Punta Cana are very cheap.

So, for example, if I were to fly Copa from POP to Las Vegas, I wouldn't see my bags until Las Vegas? That would be nice!

I have no idea on price comparisons because I prefer to shop in person for certain things like clothes so I look at the price in the store and if it seems reasonable I buy it. Panama airport is like going to a good size mall of higher end stores, great for shopping.
