Restrictive measures have been effective and have controlled the May spike in Covid-19 cases in the Dominican Republic. The Ministry of Public Health’s Epidemiology Department Coronavirus Bulletin #489 reports 316 new PCR cases for the Monday, 20 July 2021 deadline. Health authorities closely monitor the new variants and their impact in the Dominican Republic as curfew restrictions are reduced to a minimum.

The Health Cabinet has challenged the people in the Dominican Republic to get fully vaccinated. The Presidency says it is considering fully removing curfew restrictions in municipalities where 70% of the people have at least two doses. In the Dominican Republic the government has sufficient inventories of vaccines to apply at least 100,000 doses per day. Just a note about the vacines. With the spike in the US of the Delta varient, 36,000 are hospitalized daily.
Sadly some asked for the vacine then. The response?
"I'm sorry, but it's to late ..."
Hard to say something like that to a person.
