The Ministry of Public Health Coronavirus Bulletin #621 with the deadline of 29 November 2021 reports 138 new cases, a record low only comparable to the very start of the pandemic in March 2020. The pronounced drop of Covid-19 cases in the Dominican Republic coincides with the outbreak of the Omicrom variant in Europe and Africa.



Bulletin #621 reports active Covid-19 cases are at 3,151. The number of active cases is minimal when compared to the peak of 55,773 active cases registered in July 2021, and is evidence the vaccines are working. With around 64% of the population vaccinated with least two doses of vaccine, and 77% with at least one dose, the fourth wave outbreak was mild and has dissipated.
