DR1 News is discontinuing its comprehensive updates on Covid-19 now that the 4-week positivity has dropped under 5%. The Ministry of Public Health alerts to a round of influenza making the rounds in the Dominican Republic.

The Ministry is now urging people to act to prevent salmonellosis, leptospirosis, Escherichia coli, that especially may affect those who have been exposed to puddles and other sources of contaminated water brought by Hurricane Fiona. Public Health Minister is also urging people take care to avoid breeding mosquitos that bring dengue and that make sure they are drinking potable water to avoid stomach problems.

The number of Covid-19 cases in the Dominican Republic for Bulletin #917 dated Wednesday, 21 September 2022 was 115. The seven day average (confirmed lab-reported cases) has dropped to 223, down from 260 on the previous day. The number of active cases is now at 616...
