Public Health Minister Daniel Rivera says that Covid-19 is now endemic to the Dominican Republic. Speaking in Salcedo, Hermanas Mirabal province, as part of the activities connected to the “Ruta de Salud” program created by the Ministry, Rivera urged people to understand it is another of the diseases the country needs to learn to live with and prevent. The Ministry has flu and Covid-19 vaccines to prevent the spread of the virus. The Minister says that people should not be alarmed with unfounded rumors that circulate on social media.

The Dominican Society of Pneumology and Thoracic Surgery had alerted earlier about the increase in cases of Covid-19 and viral respiratory processes. The lung specialists recommended people return to wearing masks in closed places, especially where there are many people. The intention is to protect the elderly...

It worked 100's of years ago when they told the people to live closed to the castle (and pay taxes for protection) beause the forest was full of dragons and other monsters and it still works today.

Same here.Only change for me is after flying every month during "covid" for 2 1/2 years I can now can now catch my breath without having a mask on. BTW never caught covid

Continue wearing a mask as a placebo - but it has been proven to be useless. Yes they conditioned the masses to mask up.

They now are saying it's less healthy because you are breathing back your own CO2.

I wash my hands at least 5 times a day, probably more. I also don't open mouth kiss people when they're coughing.

When you wear a mask you may be protecting yourself from other peoples' virus droplets that are out there.
Perhaps, even more importantly you are protecting others from any of your own virus droplets.
It's a two way street.
Give and take.
Now that the initial Covid scare has passed it is only a matter of time before the next killer virus makes an appearance.
The frightened will be even more frightened.
The skeptics will be more skeptical.
And the cynics will run amok.
C'est la vie.
