According to World Data (https://ourworldindata.org/covid-vaccinations) the DR is at 55.7% partially vaccinated and 45.1% fully vaccinated.
A bit off the 70% target but pretty much anyone visiting here by air or sea is 100% vaccinated so it will be interesting to see what plays out.

Well kudos to the DR government for not falling into totalitarian control madness like these western countries right now (Canada, US, Australia, France etc).

Now let's just hope the DR won't be mandating vaccine passports for indoor dining and other BS like that.

Today I went do Dumbo Cafe in Santo Domingo (zona Colonial) for breakfast, with no silly mask on of course.
The 2 or 3 waitresses working there did have a mask on but only wore it under their chins.

No one screamed at me for not wearing a face diaper.

Now the funny thing is they do have a written sign in English inside the cafe that clearly reads "No mask No service", but even them aren't too bothered to enforce this ridiculous rule lol. I was still allowed to dine in with no questions asked and treated with respect.

Just goes to show that most people here are tired of these restrictions.

Almost nobody has been wearing a mask in the gym I go to for about six months now and the same people are still there. No deaths to report yet. It does have windows all around, so plenty of fresh air ventilation and sanitizer is available.

Thank god things are finally getting back to normal. Those were the longest two weeks of my entire life.
