One of our fellow members was flat out lying to all of us a few days ago claiming millions of people were "killed" due to a certain Governor's decision to keep the state open. Here is more proof to refute that member spewing those ridiculous claims. In all actuality (according to Doctor Google) it's been less than three-quarters of a million across the entire country.

People are saying this morning that the toqa de queda is back on the 5th December until the 5th of January.

No idea if it is true or not.

I find the infection fatality rate important than the case rate. At least to me.

Every death in 2020 was counted as a Covid death. Whether or not Covid was the actuall cause of death will be debated for generations to come.

You need to take ALL the information before making an assumption like that. California still leads the country in deaths, outbreaks....etc. New Jersey , NY and Georgia are all top ten. If you just want to go with over all deaths, more people in the USA have died in 2021 than 2020. Current guy said he had a plan and covid would be defeated quickly. The virus is proving to be both more durable and adaptable than predicted, with more variants and sub-variants showing up every day. In very of the southern states a high population of black Americans that don't trust the vaccine or the government, and are obese are dying. Nothing to do with whom they voted for.
Florida is as far south as you get. Did you ever see a black redneck................

Gulf Coast’s beloved ‘Redneck Riviera’ now a COVID-19 hotspot

GULF SHORES — Tourists and servers alike dance atop tables and in the aisles at one restaurant on the “Redneck Riviera,” a beloved stretch of towns along the northern Gulf Coast where beaches, bars and stores are packed. Yet just a few miles away, a hospital is running out of critical care beds, its rooms full of unvaccinated people fighting for their lives.

I predicted from day 1 that it would be here, there and everywhere to stay. It is a coronavirus. No "technology" currently exists and no "regulations" no matter how draconian can eliminate it.

Didn't click the bait.
Did they ask those folks dancing atop the tables whether or not they were vaccinated?

Outside of a few pockets of Orlando, Tampa and South FL pretty much the whole state of FL is redneck.

SANTO DOMINGO. - The Minister of Health clarified this Monday that the Government has not issued any decree to establish measures that include a new curfew schedule, and attributed the information that circulates in this regard on social networks to 'false' news. Dr. Daniel Rivera said that this is “false, President Luís Abinader has not issued a decree regarding new measures due to the proximity of Christmas, the cases of COVID-19, the positivity, as well as the hospitalization indicators have gone going down, which indicates that the measures that are being taken have given good results in the population. ”The Health Minister pointed out that the authorities will decide if the 2021 Christmas festivities will be held under restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. , according to the behavior of the cases observed in the following week, however, he expressed that they are decreasing. 'Rest assured that as the levels in the indicators improve, the Health Cabinet will take measures that benefit the population so that they enjoy the Christmas festivities, however, people must continue with the measures and the protocol established with the use of the mask and physical distancing. Regarding the vaccination process, he said that the country is heading for 78% of people immunized with the first dose, being one of the best countries in the world with that indicator. He asked the population to continue with the process to complete the scheme with the second dose, where only about 400 thousand people are missing for the second dose. In the same way, he congratulated the Catholic churches for keeping their parishioners complying with the established protocol and the use of the mask, at the same time he asked the other sectors to continue collaborating so that the citizens continue with the application of the vaccine.

The government did say that, for some reason, they were going to enforce that people have proof of vaccination to enter public areas, this time for real, no honestly we really mean it this time, starting on December 1.

Not just you in Santiago. SD and BC also. Nobody asks for them and for good reason. Who wants to lose up to 40% of their business? Way too stupid.
One thing these Muppets do not seem to understand, when it comes to most of these smaller supermarkets, colmados, salons and privately owned small businesses, most if not all of their clientel are repeat customers. How many freaking times are they supposed to show proof prior to entering the establishment? Once, twice? Three times?
SMH...
It's not like they are somehow going to become unvaxed for not showing proof the for the fourth time that week.
Idiots.
