My mother in BC just got her second Pfizer, and one brother gets his second moderna today, other brother had the AstraZeneca and his second shot will be moderna.

Canadian media is predicting an early fall federal election Bob. If that is true, we can expect the Covid hotel restrictions to be eliminated for Canadian and US citizens but remain in place for travellers arriving from other foreign countries. Canadian Bookings for DR resorts should skyrocket after that

I need to get to the DR to check on my friend Russ in Luperon. He had a major medical setback a few weeks ago. Information on his current condition is skimpy. PM if you want more details.

When having some other work done today, a lawyer told me the mayor of Santiago, DR cannot legally prevent people from entering public buildings unless they have been vaccinated. I suppose we will hear more about that soon.

Air Canada hired back 2,600 furloughed staff yesterday. I hope they are close to reinstating flights to the DR in July. No mention of vaccine passport requirements to board their international flights on their website yet. It’s coming. It’s just a matter of time.

Do you think the free world will accept Sinovac - a vaccine from the country where Covid was made in the lab?
If there was political justice they would not accept this vaccine - forcing all the people dealing with China in any health matters - to think twice.

WHO validates Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use and issues interim policy recommendations

Not much different than the other vaccines according to World Health Organization.

Hopefully the PCR test will still be an option.

Canada seems to be way behind the curve. I wonder how this will effect Canada's economic recovery?
Certainly the lack of Canadian tourists has reduced DR's economy

Does which vaccination I received affect the certificate?

Yes. Only vaccines approved for use in the EU count -- so if Sinovac or Sputnik V, for example, wouldn't count. At least, that's the bloc-wide rule; individual countries can tweak the rules.
Currently, the EU has approved AstraZeneca, Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson.

So if you are from the EU, now in the DR and can only get Sinovac does that mean you can never go home to the EU?

(Or does a PCR test work for re-entry?)
