From what I have read mid spring would be a bit optimistic for the start of vaccinations in the DR. Perhaps for those a highest risk it could start mid next year.

I am going with Q2 of 2022 for the relaxation of curfews. Let us see how close I am.
There will be no economy left by then. The effects are beginning to crash the subsistence of Dominicans. I know several Dominicans that are going to leave their jobs because their pay (and propinas) have been reduced. Trying to live on 7,000 pesos a month is not something even the most frugal family can do

All four times same station. All four times same extortion tactic. They take you in, an "officer" pulls you to the side and says "hey gringo, do you want to go home or do you want to sleep here tonight?". Once they finally realized they're weren't getting any money out of me, they stopped gcfinku with me. Problem was so wide spread throughout some areas of Santiago a few years ago that it made the news.
Ah, so you were out and about during curfew. OK. Makes sense.

Negative.
Last time I was harrassed by those
scumbags was in May of 2017. The
curfew is losely enforced in the area
I live now. As I'm not making
any problems (which I never do) they don't bother me
walking a few blocks to visit friends
or grabbing a bite to eat. And yes, I've
been waved at more than once when
they pass by when I'm out after curfew
where I live. I'm never out past 10pm.

OK, so we clarified they are not criminals, they are just being treated like criminals for not following curfew regulations.

You call it "controlling", I call it "trying to control the spread of the disease"

And FWIW, I've never been detained in almost 50 years.

The curfew has not affected me significantly. I go to work every day, don't go out at night and visit the supermarket on Sunday morning.
In fact, my business has doubled since COVID started. The only time I've worn a mask is when I go to the supermarket and when I receive visitors at work.

What were you doing the 4 times you've been detained?
You call it "controlling", I call it "trying to control the spread of the disease". I'm not sure how taking all these people out of one tight space and transporting them to another, most likely even smaller helps. I've tried to find the number of citizens arrested and detained for being out past curfew but could not find any recent numbers. Based on when I could still find it a few months ago when it was already over 100K I would expect that now it has to be over 200K or over 2 % of the population. If conchos pack people into a 1989 Toyota Corolla before curfew, that is safe (to me any time spent in a concho is not safe). I see plenty examples of no social distancing, it is selective at best.
I say OPEN EVERYTHING UP, elderly, obese, pre-existing conditions take special cautions, but let the rest of Dominicans go back to earning at least enough to put food on the table for themselves and their families.

Must be very difficult. Even worse if they are going to go from 7,000 RD to Zero RD.

PN gets his helmet smacked off for
acting like an asshole. I will continue
posting these videos until this control
issue they are having with the general
population stops. Enjoy.

Packing them in the truck like sardines.
Half of them not wearing anytime of protection.
Really helping to slow the spread... eh?

Again. Look at how they are loading all of these people into
a truck packed full and if one of these people are sick, how
many more (instead of that one infected person) do you now
think could be infected?

Allowing them to arrest people like this is dangerous in my opinion.
Much more dangerous than this virus.

The last clip in this one is hilarious.
PN gets left in the dust. Happened just
around the corner from a friend's house
in Moca. Up until this plandemic I was
on that block 3 out of 4 Sunday afternoons a month.
Enjoy!

The guy at the 5 minute mark of this one clearly says he's sick and
was going to get some pills/ medicine. They pay him no mind.... in
the truck you go. Stopping the spread eh? Confiscating people's pasolas
is really helping to keep the ICU beds in the hospitals empty.

Th people who are in favor of this curfew are fools
and need to stop walking around with their heads up
their ass. This curfew is doing far more harm to Dominican
society than good.

I think that if the government would pass in the media...TV...News...ect people in the hospital fighting to breed to stay alive. Also maybe interviews with people that survived thru a difficult time with covid 19. This might help certain people take this seriously.

People that do not know family member or close friends that had a bad time with covid-19 just go on their life as all is normal but once a family member gets infected and struggles to live then the people realize it could be them.
