We here in the US cannot afford to house Dominican criminals and those here illegally, the Federal Bureau of Prisons has to outsource jail cells for these unwanted elements while being housed in the US. This costs millions of tax dollars, much of these dollars are wasted upon political corruption...a topic in which anyone residing in the DR should be well acquainted with.
My best advice for those wishing less government is to not reside where governments exist...kidding of course.
In no way am I implying move etc., I've already lived there twice, and your corrupt government(which is limited in scope)in the DR pales in comparison with the US.
Without even a second thought, I would choose residence in the DR as opposed to PR/US.
