Hi to all who may remember me from about a year ago.

My situation was, my husband was in PAP during the earthquake and I went to the embassy in DR last February to bring him here due to the circumstances and they let him come on a temp. visa. He also got a work permit that expires next month.

Now, I looked at our status online and they finally changed the status to:
We started processing XXXX application on June 30, 2009.

Medical results have been received.

A decision has been made on XXXX application. The office will contact XXXX concerning this decision.

They won't talk to me since we didn't fill out the use of representative form, but I was listening in on his conversation when he called the CIC Toll-free line. They stated that the decision had been made and they'll be contacting him for an interview.

Now, I am utterly confused, because we have been told his application is here in Ottawa, it's in the DR and it's in PAP. I don't know where it actually is. We had someone in Toronto call us for him to take more passport photos, but she said she had no info, she was simply informed to contact us. We also redid our medicals and submitted these.

So, I don't get first of all if we should pay for the work permit renewal right now or if we should wait and where exactly they plan on holding this interview as he in Canada right now.

Can anyone help guide me in the right place or perhaps have an idea of what is going on with our file?

Thanks!

BG that sounds crazy.

I can't believe he doesn't have his PR yet.

Why would it say Decision made before an interview has even happened?

As usual, I don't give much credit to the call center.

I think you should use your MP's help with this one.

Hi Sangria,

I know it's crazy! I did contact them and they're doing an inquiry into this. The confusing part is... I don't even know where his application is. Every time we call it's a different story.

I am under the impression that he may need to exit the country and come back in order to "land." I am honestly just curious to see what happens next. They told us that our file would take longer because he's already here, but I didn't think we'd be going on two years!

Now, I am just going to go ahead and pay the work permit renewal, considering we have no clue what is going to happen next with the PR.
