Dengue questions!

Hi! I recently read that kids between the ages of 9-16 who have previously had dengue have been approved for the new dengue vaccine. I know the dengue vaccine is way overshadowed this year, but it's exciting news for my nephews who nearly died from it a few years ago. They still meet the age requirements.

Google says that "A vaccine is available for people living in some Dengue endemic countries, but is not commercially available for travellers"

Has anyone heard about this dengue vaccine? Is it available in the DR yet? (At all, widely? Anyone know where my nephews could go to get a vaccine?) Thanks in advance!

Living here 9 years.
I've had dengue twice.
Second time I thought I might die.
(hold the applause)
I hear the third time's a charm.
As far as I know, there is no vaccine
available. You catch it, you tough it
out and pray it doesn't kill ya.

Twice?? Wow!! I haven't had it yet and have no interest in doing so!

The FDA approved a vaccine for people who have already had it once in May of 2019, but I don't know if it's available in the DR yet. I think it's only for kids 9-16 who have had it, but again, not sure.

3 times here.....

By #3 I treated myself
After the fever drops from 104F or so... to 101-102F
Pedialyte and Ensure for days

Takes 10 days or so to subside
Head pain like you've never felt....

Only 4 types.... one more to go for me
