Just had a root canal and crown (porcelain) in the U.S. and the total was $1600...my share was around $800. Should be much cheaper in the D.R., if Dental care costs are comparable to medical care costs.

Anyone know of a reliable Dentist here in Santo Domingo that will do a crown the same day? If not I'm willing to travel elsewhere.
My Dentist in the U.S told me a crown will be $2,600. No way I'm paying that much.
Prices should be Half...and a crown is not done in a day here...gotta go to hong kong for that...
Had a root canal and ceramic crown done on a molar in July of this year on the north coast at Nieves Pappaterra's office in Sosua. My out of pocket cost was 19,080 $RD with insurance that paid half. So about $443 US with or $886 without insurance.
That seems kind of high. I paid that here in Florida a couple of months ago..........
I do live in a tourist area, which could mean higher prices. It was also an emergency since the tooth was infected and very painful and required additional visits to be sure the infection was gone.
Note that the OP was quoted $2,600 in the US for a root canal and a crown.
Disclosure: Robert receives advertiing income from the dental advertiser asnd had work done there. Not true!
Makes sense. I was quoted for a bridge in Florida $3700.00 by the same dentist got it done by Dra Monica in DR for less than $700.00.....#AMAZINGSAVINGS.
I tried to have my work done at Dra Monica's office first, but the quoted price was higher than what I paid and the doctor who did the root canals was not available for a couple of days, so I went just down the street to Pappaterra instead.
