What are flights and prices from Russia now?
It is VERY important!
Russia has its borders closed, so none of the airlines are selling tickets. or doing any flights.

Actually, Russian borders are opened for some airlines, but Dominican Republic is still not on the list of permitted countries, and even if the permit will be granted by the Russian Government, there is no point for Azur and Nordwind to start flights to DR until November.

I had business documents coming from Miami to Santo Domingo every week with Fedex during 4 years. Never a problem. According to the tracking info, it always came via Puerto Rico. Only once they put it by mistake on a plane from Puerto Rico to Santiago instead of Santo Domingo, so it came from Santiago on their truck, it caused one day delay, but it happened only once in 4 years.

Business documents they might do well. But goods that need to be cleared by customs and are stored few days/weeks in their warehouse somehow may tend to go lost if the package is not big enough (maybe moving, reorganizing space, acts of carelessness, lack of duty, who knows). My associate had two packages lost with them in their warehouse, both 1000+ USD worth, but small packages with fiber optics SFP (package would be the size of a phone box). So never ever Fedex with stuff that needs to go through customs and stay in their warehouse for any length of time.

By the way, I used UPS a few times to send documents and small items like apartment keys from here to Turkey and Panama, it worked great. But once somebody sent documents from Russia to Santo Domingo with them, a package went to Dominica instead of Dominican Republic. The address was correct, but their employee put DM instead of DO as a country code. I noticed that when the package was on its way, so I had to spend some time on the phone with them and they finally re–routed it.

I had this same issue, a supplier in Lithuania had an employee put a DM instead of DO, this was just this week, but we cought it before the pickup using parcelsapp.com tracking website , contacted them right away so they voided the shipment and reissued the tracking number with correct country destination.

^^^^THIS^^^^ FEDEX is fine with docs, but docs only.
