Well, they somehow manage to do it in other countries so why can't it be done here? And why don't they see them? I do, every day.How are they going to prosecute them if they don't see them and can't catch them?
It's like i said before, we see the crazy things they're doing because we're out driving around. The only place you ever see AMET officers(except in SD), is at road check points. Even at the check points, these brazen moto drivers won't stop and there's nothing they can do about it. They need to be patrolling on motos to see and catch these guys doing wheelies, driving the wrong way, blowing red lights, etc.Well, they somehow manage to do it in other countries so why can't it be done here? And why don't they see them? I do, every day.
Exactly, they should take a lesson from countries like Colombia. I have been to Medellin twice in the last six months and the way motorbike riders there are like what you would expect to find in north America or Europe. All riders wear helmets including passengers. All bikes are in pristine condition, all with working lights, indicators and mirrors. Many bike riders also wear high visibility clothing. My wife, who is Dominican, commented on why it can't be like this in the DR and I keep telling her that if the authorities can't be bothered to do anything drastic, it will never change here in the DR. You also will not find one car on the road in poor condition. The transport police are everywhere and I can only assume that the fines are at a level where nobody would take their car or bike on the road in poor condition.Well, they somehow manage to do it in other countries so why can't it be done here? Colombians and that country are several levels above Dominicans and DR.Exactly, they should take a lesson from countries like Colombia. Totally agree, but there is no reason why the DR cannot be like Colombia or other similar countries. It is all about setting the bar high and having an administration that are actually invested in making a changeColombians and that country are several levels above Dominicans and DR.
They've had their struggles but turned it around after Escobar got stuffed.
So why are they making a big stink (and rightfully so) about noise but not this? I can't wrap my head around why they tolerate some shit and get a buzz up their britches about other things.Totally agree, but there is no reason why the DR cannot be like Colombia or other similar countries. Dominican logic.......So why are they making a big stink (and rightfully so) about noise but not this? I can't wrap my head around why they tolerate some shit and get a buzz up their britches about other things.
Just a typical moto accident, no?OK, I'll admit it. Can somebody explain the pictures in the first post?
I would have shared this opinion some years ago. But things are not improving. Infrastructure is allowed to crumble and the water and electric companies have no responsibility for reliable service.Totally agree, but there is no reason why the DR cannot be like Colombia or other similar countries. Could we please find out how you REALLY feel?Fat fucking chance. About 2 weeks ago on Autopista San Isidro I was walking on the sidewalk when a moto driver came at me the wrong way on the sidewalk. There was only 1 vehicle on the autopista, a parked cop truck with 3 cops eating. Totally useless asswipes.
