For me BMCARGO is the best.
Most couriers charge you from 1 pound on, even if the package weights 0.20.
BMCARGO charges you exactly what it weights.
Love them for that!!

The sending of letters with EPS I really cannot recommend at this time!

I am since 10 years client of EPS and a long time it was good. A normal letter from Cabarete to Germany took around 2 weeks.*
BUT NOW THE RUNNING TIMES ARE INAKZEPTABLE LONG!! I sent 3 normal letters at different times from Cabarete to Germany and Austria. The first 2 letters took more than 6 weeks, the 3. letter is now 5 1/2 on the way and has not arrived jet!! The normal time for this should be, like the information I got, 15 labor days = 3 weeks. EPS cannot say to their clients the letter takes 15 labor days *and in reality it takes more than the double time, that is unserious and also could bring the clients in big troubles like me, *when it had to be at a fixed time arrived!! If this happens one times that could probably be, but if it happens in three different times in a row, that means to me there is system error! For example: they send only one times per week the letter from SD to Miami, that means if you have bad luck your letter lays one week in SD.

I made a reclamation to Angi Wolf in Sosua, but if it helps is not shure, because the double time is a huge difference. If they cannot fix the problem I have to change the company, because these RUNNING TIMES ARE *INAKZEPTABLE LONG!!

Has anyone experience / information?s for other services how long travel normal letters to Europe and how much does it cost? Maximum 500Peso!

Do not use EPS for normal mail to US or Europe. And coming from US or Europe to EPS you are lucky if you get the mail at all. They are excellent for packages, and used to be excellent for letters. Not anymore. Packages yes, regular mail look elsewhere.

That?s really hard words, do you have some examples for that?

But wich service company is in the case of sending letters to Europe really recommendable? I had checked some of the companies in the first thead-post , it semes to me that most of them are specialist for parcels.

Yes I do. Not getting it at all, but coming months after being mailed from Miami to here. That was enough for me.

Just to add, I still use EPS for packages. They are excellent for that, but for mail I do not.

can I add a shipping company from Atlanta to this list? best I ever found. I ship a lot to, heavy equipment to lightweight stuff.. even with haitian companies as well as ones on this sticky. I have met the owners in Atlanta and here in the DR. Great honest shippers. have never had a theft, some damage but not much. My Dominican wife loves them and that says a lot, she does not trust anyone.

What is the name of the shipper in Atlanta? Thanks!

Someone please straighten me out please. I am going to be in Sosua for 8 months beginning in a few weeks so I set up an account with BM Cargo for occasional use. I understand how to have an Amazon order or whatever shipped to BM Cargo in Florida but how does BM Cargo know to ship the package to Sosua, during the application process they didn't ask where my packages would be forwarded to. My other question is how do you know when your package has arrived in Sosua? Feel free to call me stupid but what am I missing here? Thank you in advance.

They give you a number that you use in your address, that number tells them where in the DR it is to be delivered.

As for your other question, the company I deal with EPS sends you an Email when it is delivered. Don't know how yours works though.

Weren't you applying on the Sosua page or whatever? I'd make sure they ar eaware where you are before having anything sent.
But yes the two different carriers I used both sent an email when my mail arrovein the DR> But with the one it always said Santo Domingo, which is where I wasn't, but the oackage was actuallyy in SOsua.

I have used BMCargo for years for receiving packages and letters. I just checked their website, and on the registration form there is clearly an option "localidad", where you have to choose to which of their locations you want things delivered to. So indeed you should have had this selected. (https://bmcargo-online.iplus.com.do/zz/Membresia.aspx?pid=214)

For your other question I cannot really give a good answer, as while they have a good tracking system, it has always been me who has kept track where is the package, and went to the office immediately when it has arrived based on the website. So by tracking the package you for sure get to know when it has arrvived, but I'm sure there is some kind of notification system in place as well. At least with me they have always been really helpful, so you might want to confirm with them.
