Does this setup also filter out calcium or is that only with RO? I see a lot of limescale in/on faucets by hard water..

It's supposed to filter out all minerals. There are also filters specifically for calcium.

You have to do your homework when looking for a filtration system. There are as many different systems as stars in the night sky.

I know an old woman who has spent her life on a farmette near Puerto Plata. She has always drunk the water coming out of the mountain not far from Damajagua.
You have to know where it's coming from. If there's livestock grazing up above, you don't want to drink it like that.

I guess my homework just started. This thread gave me some pointers to start thinking about how to setup our water management (y)

sorry about the typo , should be ulcers.
It is common knowledge that people get gastritis , stomach ulcers from drinking river water here where I live , and all countries in central/south america, and the carribean.

There are bacteria Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori ) in the water that cause ulcers I believe.

Where I live it was not uncommon to have people die every year from it. Older people especially.

Now it is less common ,as most people drink water from bottles.

A simple solution….I have a water filtration system in my house- for all water.
I fill my 36 ounce Yeti cup in the morning and carry it with me everywhere. Halfway through the day I fill it again.

People are so accustomed to seeing me with it that if I go somewhere without it, they tell me that I forgot my cup!

Doing this I know what I am ingesting and not
using plastic.

If you're drinking river water, the human race has left you behind. There is no hope.
