Do you incur any charges on your DR cell when it is call forwarded to the US and someone calls your DR number?.....our home phone land lines and cell phones to US numbers when travelling there with no problem.............
Thanks, that's what I figured but was hoping for another answer. :cheeky::bunny::bunny:basically, it is OUR phone (either landline or cell) that is calling the US.............
We pay the same rate as if we called the US ourselves........
Thanks for the reply. Can I ask who your cell provider is and whats the charge per minute for the forwarded calls?.....our home phone land lines and cell phones to US numbers when travelling there with no problem.............

Thanks it helps. Last question is the (829) area code very common. Do most Dominicans know this as a new area code?.......they call us on...........
Our "land" line with Codetel has the USA plan and the price per minute is ONLY 1.00 (one) peso 24 hours per day.........This is by far the best option that we have found......... The USA plan is a $100RD (one hundred) charge per month on your account........
Our cellular is a regular cellphone with a monthly bill (not prepaid) and the per minute charge is $3.20RD.....(which now that i'm looking at it, is going to make me call and see if they have a lower rate for cellphones.....i'll let ya know!)
Hope that helps!

........everyday............
although I still like the "809" better.............
Many times people will give you their cell number without the 829 and then you call the 809 and get the wrong person, then realize it must be 829.
I am not sure if any landlines have the 829 code yet or if it is just cellular........
you can receive calls from the DR and not get charged (you just call 1-220-1111 to activate roaming)
Look, buy an Iphone clone, you will have a cell phone that supports 2 sim cards. After you activate that cell phone with for example Claro, you can receive calls from the DR and not get charged (you just call 1-220-1111 to activate roaming) and then you get a sim from whichever company you like in Puerto Rico to receive/make calls in puerto rico.
I hope this helped you.
