The Dominican consulate/embassy in Madrid, Spain is moving. The Dominican ambassador Juan Bolivar Diaz says the office was located in a residential building and was protested by the residents for the large number of people that visited.

The Ministry of Foreign Relations says that move is to a better facility.

The eviction notice came from a city court in Madrid and will affect passports, the office of the Central Electoral Board (JCE) and other government officials that share the office.

With close to 200,000 Dominican immigrants, Spain is the number two receptor of the Dominican diaspora.

According to newspaper reports, the notice comes after years in the courts and is the result of many complaints from other occupants of the building on the Paseo de la Castellana #128.

Funny. And the Spanish are probably among the most tolerant in Europe with noise.

Also due to high traffic of workers and clients in what is supposed to be a residential building?
