My only observation is that it was not that impressive - sorry but that is compared to UK & Ibiza which are tough to beat at their best.

The music was a little more mainstream than your average tourist venue with more house music than anything else - but to be honest the trance was a bit on the slushy commercial side for me.

Then again - I am a tough crowd.

Very Dominican, though.

I only visited Loft in SD a couple of times (maybe it was closed already, not sure) - everyone looked and was dressed really well. I have not noticed any cheap tasteless outfits.

You are saying the same thing, I'm not asking if you was impressed or not.
I'm asking for your observations whilst partying on Av. Venezuela.

House and trance music on Av. Venezuela?
What bars did you go to?

Tourist venue?
You will be hard pushed to find a tourist on Av. Venezuela,
so I'm not sure it can be compared to the music you
might here in a disco in Playa Dorada or Imagine in Punta Cana etc.

You'll do just fine. It's worth going, just to soak up the atmosphere, people watch and see a different side of the capital that 95% of tourists and expats never see. Plus plenty of Dominicans I might add :)

I went to Monumento al Son a couple of times, does that count?

I know, it's on CDG, not Venezuela.

Maybe. jejeje

As we have so many knowledgeable people in this thread about chopo or barrio fashion, I naturally assumed many of them had been to the epicenter.
I guess not, going by the lack of responses.

I rest my case.... :)

The woman dressed chopa style will be the one taken to the cabana most nights. Men will spend the evening chatting it up trying to charm the fancy pants off the women dressed in high fashion. They won't get into those pants without deep pockets.
Of course taking the chopa to the cabana must be kept a secret.
I like to dress somewhere in the middle of classy and trashy.

LMAO this is so funny to me... HAHAHAHA

You have all the time to cruise barrios in your fancy low profile wheels (jepeta) with your 12 yrs chevas in hand. I can just imagine the music you are listening to with your jeva from cien fuego.

Again, this is not siding with anyone here.. but I just try to look at the positives and although the person that this message is intended for might not find this funny at all, the fact still remains that this post was for fashion DO's AND DON'T so why are folks here taking this sooo seriously????

This just proves that the country hasn't moved forward. You still have the same stereotypical "come mierdas" that have no clue of what they are saying ... Just because you wear this or that doesn't make you as a top notch person... Lets make sure of that..

There was this one comment I read here.. saying that he dressed like true jevito because he buys Diesel so on and so on GUCCI... Is sad that people have to count on name brands to defined them as a person with substance and character. The number one problem in DM.

The fact still remains, when you have poise and you are elegant, you make any clothes look good... So sorry you have spend your money in close trying to make yourself look better... What a FAG!!!!

Women on that video did not look too small or skinny to me -they obviously don't take care of themselves. The girls I saw at Loft looked so good, I was jealous. Although they did wear only regular night club clothes - jeans and small tops.

Are we still on this? Who cares who is "cool" or "hip"? Everything pales in comparison to what I think is cool anyway and it stop being cool in 1979. I m just waiting for my bus ride back home. Come back Disco! I love you man!

Techno? Donkey balls. House music? Deer mouse balls. Garage, industrial, reggaeton, new merengue? Just hit me with the lightning bolt already!

But anyway, I think the topic was what are the DOs/Dont of wearing clothes or whatever. Man, I m glad I m pro-nude. All I have to do is worry about my pre-cancerous moles and wicked comb-over

Now you know the difference... to some extent.
You will see plenty of stunners on Av. Venezuela, just not dressed like the girls you saw in Loft.

For those of you that don't know, Loft was a club on Tiradentes, a long way from Av. Venezuela :)
