According to Coronavirus Bulletin #148 of the Ministry of Public Health’s Department of Epidemiology, the Dominican Republic has 84,488 confirmed cases, including 1,354 new cases.

The accumulated incidence of the disease per 100,000 inhabitants as per confirmed PCR tests is highest in the National District and these top 10 provinces: National District 2,303, Pedernales (1,228), La Altagracia (852), Santiago (835), Sanchez Ramirez (770), Barahona (696), Azua (681), Maria Trinidad Sanchez (686), La Romana (670) and Duarte (647). Santo Domingo province is in 11th place in incidence of the disease per 100,000 inhabitants.

The number of confirmed cases depends on the completion of PCR tests. Even the well-off in the Dominican Republic have to wait to get tested or get their test results. There is a long delay in cases pending for results and the tests carried out. For a shot at a free...
