According to Coronavirus Bulletin #96 of the Ministry of Public Health’s Department of Epidemiology, the Dominican Republic has 27,936 confirmed cases, 566 new confirmed cases from 130,745 PCR diagnostic tests. The number of PCR cases for the bulletin is 1,970, down from 2,907 the previous day.

The tally of deaths is now 675, including 6 new registered deaths. The previous 14-day average is 9.4. Both Public Health Minister Rafael Sánchez Cárdenas and the director of the National Health Service, Chanel Rosa Chupany have stated that the death tally does not necessarily reflect the deaths for the period covered by the bulletin and deaths that are now being registered could have occurred in the past. During the 23 June press conference, Dr. Sánchez Cárdenas said that of the 675 deaths, there are around 200 that are probable Covid-19 deaths, not confirmed deaths.
