Also the women have to change!!
How many times I've heard a woman say to her daughter "si das tu popola a un hombre el tiene que darte algo"!!!
The majority of the women in the barrios have this attitude, it's part of the culture. :ermm:

i guess it is their only asset, and means of securing a livelihood. not too many of them will be working at IBM next Wednesday.

Being "POOR" is never an excuse to be a prostitute!
And if you think that the money they earn goes to support their children, you don't know ANY PROSTITUTES!!!!!!!!
My new maid is a "Fine Looking Piece Of A$$"!
She COULD work in any whore house in the DR!!!!!!
(I can't believe my wife let her in the house!!!!)
Instead she chooses to work two jobs as a maid, and makes 10,000 pesos a month that DOES go to her children!
I plan to see if she wants to augment that 10,000 pesos next week!

I disagree with this. I also agree with Criss that the putas dont spend their money from whoring on their kids. Most of them spend their money on themselves. I dont really know any prostitutes but I do know campos and barrios. What I see is women doing laundry, going door to door asking to do anything for some pesos, working in sew shops and basically doing anything they can to feed the families while most of the men sit on their a$$ drinking ron and talking bull$ hit. This is why the mujeres tell the ninas no dinero, no popola. The culture it seems to me is more that the men do little for the families and its left up to the women. I just wish more emphasis on safe sex and contraception were passed on to the chicas.

I would guess very few women dream of being a whore when they are children. However it is the oldest profession and it is legal. If you dont like it dont patronize them.

Thank you Jsimon for answering the legality tax question.
Essentially what the whores are saying is please stop robbing us.

Holy Christ I think I just became a feminist. Protect the Chicas.

Some interesting responses here. Taxing them will not help anything. If anything they should model themselves after some European cities. Healthcare and monthly checkups is mandatory. I rather see the girls pay for health insurance then for them to give the corrupt govt more money.
As far as being poor as a reason.....There is some truth to that. The vast majority of hookers world wide are from poor countries, but on the flip side the Western countries have their fair share also. They just call them escorts instead of hookers. Or a drug addict.
At the end of the day its all about supply and demand. The last time I checked both the supply and demand remains high.

A certain portion of her money has to go to her kids or they'd die of lack of food.
Are you sure that all prostitutes are prostitutes because they have no other options to feed their kids? Who told you that bullsh1t? What about those who have no kids? What about whores in US legal brothels like Chicken Rahch who charge 2500 dollars per hour and up?

Man, they just love EASY money. No matter where, Bangladesh, DR or US. Even if you give them an office job with average salary, they are NOT INTERESTED, or they try to work one week and return to prostitution, because it's EASY.

Agree, They are totally into the whole scene. The cloths, the partying the competition for attention from the dudes, the money and many many enjoy the sex.
You offer many of those chicas a steady job and they will indicate they are no suckers.(pun)

i believe that opportunity is like the holy grail of life, and lack of it is likewise the root of evil. Even in a developed and powerful nation like the USA, many people do not have vast opportunity available to them. Many primary schools are sub par, setting children out already behind and ill -prepared. Even those that get collage scholarships and a mountain of debt, aren't guaranteed good jobs. Yes, It is true to expect that even if all people had opportunity for great jobs with upward mobility, some individuals would still choose the fast money alternatives of a life in crime or sex work. But i would argue that the numbers doing these things would be less. other than the sociopaths, most crime is a direct consequence of desperation, which is itself the human price of limited opportunity. I would venture to say that given access to higher education and other means to gain a comfortable living as a single mother, while still having time available to raise her children, then a large percentage of the women doing sex work wound elect to not have to go to out night after night after night, and subject themselves to the physical and psychological scars of constant intimate contact with strangers, many of whom are especially undesirable objects of affection. All of you know people that work jobs that are miserable or demeaning in some way, because it is the best income opportunity they have available at the time. I strongly feel that it is grossly unfair to demean and stereotype all women in such a situation as having or even worse, embracing poor character traits and lack of motivation. i also feel that it is shortsighted to quickly judge how a person uses their resources, when they are in a such a situation. Because people must find ways to cope with personal challenges through self-therapy. In a culture like DR where such a high focus is placed on physical appearance and personal grooming, it is not hard to understand why so much is spent on themselves, after all, their clothing, accessories, phones, and personal grooming are also all business expenses to increase their demand. Also in light of drug use, just as we all turn to medications to aid in our personal torments, why should we choose to demean someone else for choosing a different drug to ease theirs. Many families in this world eat because of sex work, and it has a very high cost on the laborers both physically and emotionally. Honestly, how individual drugs are classified is sadly the jurisdiction of politics and whom is collecting the profits.

Now you owe me $100 for reading this post. Is this a test of a sophisticated spam bot?

I disagree on this point, most prostitutes, escorts and porn actresses I've known are frigid bitches who love money 100 times more than sex.

I concur here; I can't think of any person who enjoys sucking random, strange **** on the regular, whether with our without a condom.

"No Dinero, No Popola" may be a Spanish phrase, BUT, it translates well into ALL Languages!
I am the "Self Appointed" "Whore Mongering Expert" here on DR1.
Been "Sampling The Wares" of the "ladies" all over the "Globe" for 50 years.
Thousands here in the DR.
"Fish" doesn't know "$HIT" about "Where The Money Goes"!
And here's a "HINT", it AIN'T to her kids!!!!!!!!
They are living with a family member, usually her mother.
The "Caregiver" buys everything for the kids, NOT the "Baby Mami"!
"Baby Mami" goes home to her "Campo" at Christmas, Semana Santa, and "El Dia de las Madres" if thet are lucky!
She is just like the "Dominicanos" who come back to the DR from "Overseas" for the same "Dias".
She brings a suitcase, or two of "JUNK" to show how successful She/They are.
Other than that, they contribute "NADA"!
Food, clothes, "Cervesa", Drugs, a room, "Hair ,Nails, clothes, and her "Pimp", OFTEN another woman, YES, MANY are "Sisters", takes up everything they make!!!!!!!
Don't get me wrong, I "LOVE" the "Ladies", but any awards for "Mami Of The Ano" should be withheld for when it's "Their Turn" to take care of their Daughter's kids, when their daughter is out "Whoring" in 15 years!
