Hi Patricia,

The DR embassy is located in Sun Valley.

Here's their info.

9001 Laurel Canyon Blv. Suite 204
Sun Valley, CA 91352
Phone: (510) 864-7777
Fax: (818) 504-6617

I had to actually go there about 2 years ago to get some documents translated / stamped etc. so the place really does exist.

Here's a URL if it helps - Embassy of the Dominican Republic, in the United States

Thanks!

suggestions on dancing in LA

Hi everyone,
Has anyone checked out the new Congo room? Any good? Anybody have suggestions for good spots for dancing (salsa, bachata, merengue) in LA? I just got back from visiting Samana and wanted to keep the groove going.:cheeky:

Off the top of my head one of the better nightclubs to dance bachata , merengue and salsa is the Rumba Room. I have yet to visit the conga room but i have heard good things about it. Another place that is very good to visit( but its a drive ) is club caribe in San Diego. The owner is Domincan and they play stuff that nobody else does here in california. I am talking about i have heard stuff from Omega to Fernando Villalona. The best part is that i think it its the only place you can buy Brugal down here in so cal.

J Money....there is actually a hotel bar/pool lounge here in LA that has Brugal. A couple of months ago, I went to Hotel Custom (www.customhotel.com) with some coworkers and was very surprised they served Brugal at the pool lounge bar. I almost drank the entire bottle in one sitting so hopefully they had more than one bottle

I agree perlanegra - Dominican Elegance Salon is a great place. My wife and I were just there this past week. Provi did a great job (as always) and I got my hair cut too while I was there (anyone who can make this guy look halfway decent deserves a gold star).

The place was very easy to find and was very much worth the drive (we drove from Pasadena). There were many walk-ins while we were there so I'm glad that word is starting to spread.

Finding any Dominican salon in Los Angeles has always been a challenge - but to find one that is of such high quality....it's truly a really special place. I'm just sorry we weren't able to go to the grand opening.

I can't pretend to be any sort of expert on Dominican hair - but my wife only trusts Provi. We walked in and felt like family - truly this is a great salon and it has my wife's (and mine) highest recommendation!

Check them out!
