Wonder what impact this will have on the areas that they are going to live?

Is it true that Dominicans deported back to DR can't get jobs after becoming deportees?

I don't believe crimes committed abroad appear in the acta de buena conducta. And yes, they can get jobs. Many work in call centers.

The discrimination many deportees face in the DR is a well known topic. There isn’t much that can be done about that.

Call centers higher many of the deportees because many of them are fluent in English, which is a requirement. In fact, some call centers advertise employment spots in English only. Many sectors are as welcoming to deportees as call centers are.

They are left going into the informal economy or committing crimes or both. The lucky ones have family members in the USA (especially if they have one or both parents abroad, since many parents do ignore focusing on their kids became criminals -as in they intentionally prefer not to know what got their kids in trouble - out of sight, out of mind) and just focus that they are their kids) that send them remittances and that’s what they live from and not the informal economy or committing new crimes.

If they entered the US or any other country illegally then they should be deported. As an expat here I get zero breaks unless I keep renewing my residency.
They DR does not deport the gringos that don't get residency they just charge them for over staying. It's the Dominican way.
