Don Juan beach resort

I'm going to the DR for the first time, we are staying at the Don Juan beach resort in Santo Domingo. I was wondering if anyone had and info on this hotel and places I must see while I'm there, especially curious about hot nightspots? Any and all information would be greatly appreciated thank you.
